Artist - Printmaker

I first became interested in printmaking , particularly screen, whilst I was a student at the High School for Art in Hull . I continued with this interest whilst  at  Bretton Hall College , Wakefield. After qualifying as a teacher of art and textiles I taught at East Riding schools for 30 years.
During this time I was able to inspire many talented students, some of whom
went on to pursue their own careers in the fields of art, design and Textiles.
Since retirement in 2006 I have been able to enjoy my passion for screen printing at the three hour print class at Hull College, and at home.
All of my work is original - working from my own photographs which have
usually been taken on holiday! Having said that I am never without my
camera. I am always on the look out for inspiration for my work, whether it
is the subject matter or for my choice of colours. A visit to the British Museum
influenced my choice of colours last year and I am sure that some of the
fabulous autumnal colours will influence me this year.
Printmaking is fun, and I absolutely love what I do. Sometimes I am impulsive
with my vibrant choice of colours – often these are my favourite pieces.
Screen printing can be very addictive!
